COLTS HIT THE YOUNG VILLA FOR A DOZEN

Eurosoccer Nottinghamshire Football League Division 3

ROBIN HOOD COLTS FC 12 AWSWORTH VILLA RESERVES 0

Most of the Awsworth players were at a wedding, so this left them with only 12 young players, the Colts had a full squad but the question was, were they going to bounce back after a midweek defeat.

With having got the teamsheets and being greeted by both clubs, it was over to the far side of the pitch, now due cricket, Robin Hood play some of their matches on the top pitch, where the defunct Thoresby CW used to play, but they also play quite a lot of there games on the bottom pitch, which houses changing rooms and a cafe, but that wasnt open today.

The game kicked off and the Colts were on the attack and on 5 minutes, a corner swung in from the right side found SAM ROEBUCK to turn in with the ball hitting the post.

The young Awsworth players were trying to play football but didnt really get out there half with only playing with 1 man up front. Things got worse for them when in the 17th minute, BAILEY GRIFFIN skipped past the visiting keeper to chip him to make it 2-0.

The visiting keeper was keeping the score down with some excellent saves, including one heading for the top right corner and he just pushed it over in middair.

But there was nothing he could do in  the 33rd minute, when CONNOR POYSER fired home from the right angle of the box.

After the half time break, for the first 15 minutes, Villa was the better of the two teams, moving forward, but not really testing the home keeper.

On the hour, the Colts went 4-0 up,. when from a corner on the left found the head of MITCHELL ANBRETT. Now with the Visitors having used their sub at half time, you could see the tired legs kicking in and on68 minutes, the found themselves 5-0 down, when RYAN BUTT's evaded the keeper.

On 71 minutes, the homesters were awarded a penalty and up stepped BEN BLYTHE to covert. Two minutes laterBAILEY GRIFFIN slid the ball past the keeper to make it 7-0.

In the 81st minute, the ref awarded the Colts another penalty, to which one of the Villa players didnt agree with, so used some choice words to see red, as he was leaving the pitch, another player didnt like the referees choice, so he called him as well, so now the visitors were down to 9 players but also facing a penalty, up stepped RYAB BULL to convert.

With a two man advantage and the nine men of the visitors strugging, the Colts kept pressing on and on 83 minutes, the Colts got their third penalyry to which ALFIE ORME made it 9-0, a minute later ALFIE ORME made it ten.

The referee signalled three minutes, and DECLEAN STONE burst through to score and nearly with the last kick off the game ALFIE ORME wrapped up his hat trick and improved Robin Hood's goal difference.

With the 12 goals seen today at 25p, the £3 takes the running total to £640.67p, towards "SCOTTYS LITTLE SOLDIERS" a charity that supports children who have lost parents who are serving in the military.

EAGLES FLY OVER THE OLYMPIC

 EUROSOCCER NOTTINGHAMSHIRE FOOTBALL LEAGUE

ARNOLD TOWN FC 5 NOTTS OLYMPIC FC 1

Photo kindly taken by Mick Gretton

Attendance: 74

Why back to Eagle Valley tonight, quite a easy answer, I saw and did Notts Olympics first programme and badge a few seasons ago and not got round to seeing them since.

As I was getting ready in the bungalow at 5pm, I saw lightening and loud claps off thunder, with the rain belting down that hard, my cat shot through the slightly opened window soaked through. I was then in 2 minds if to let Hazel take me or not, but by 5,30pm it was bright blue skies, so off we headed to Arnold Town FC.

On arrival, I popped in to the referees room and got the team sheets and wish them all a good game, to which they all did.

Said hello to some of the faithful followers of the Eagles and just got outside in time for kick off on a nice pleasant evening. The homesters were first to make the visiting keeper in to a fine save, Olympic was playing a long ball game hoping to catch the second ball and did have a couple of half chances.

After 26 minutes, Olympic after soaking up a lot of presure pumped the ball to the right hand side of the penalty area, for the winger to knock the ball over to the left side for LLOYD PATTERSON to tap home.

The lead didnt last for long as in the 36th minute, a long shot by JORDON INGRAM hit the back of the net from some distance to make it 1-1.

The Second Half began and the Eagles looked a different side as they took the game to Olympic and ran at their defence after 55 minutes BENJI AGU ran down the left and cut in and curled his shot into the top corner of the net.

On 65 minutes, it was 3-1 when JORDON INGRAM smashed in a penalty.

With both sides having made all their subs, I thought the game may slow down, how wrong was I to be,. as it became 4-1 on 70 minutes, When JAMES WADE planted his shot past the keeper.

There was still time for another goal in the 85th minute, whenJAKE OGDEN slammed the ball in to send the Eagles fans home happy.

With the 6 goals scored tonight it adds another £1.50 to the charity Blogs running total of £637.67p in aid of "SCOTTYS LITTLE SOLDIERS"

For programme Collectors and badge collectors out there, On Saturday 19th September I am doing a Meden Vale programme £2 and badge £4 and on the 3rd October I will be doing ST Keverne's FIRST EVER PROGRAMME at £2..any one that is interested, please email on hornby60uk@hotmail.com asap to pre order, if you cant make any of those games then I can send via post with postal costs

TEN MEN COLTS FIGHT BACK FOR LATE WIN

EUROSOCCER NOTTINGHAMSHIRE FOOTBALL LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION

MEDEN VALE COLTS 3 NEWARK & SHERWOOD UNITED 2

Well where do I begin? after meeting everyone and setting out to near the halfway line, Id got home supporters one side of me and visiting supporters on the other side of me.

The fixture caught my eye as soon as they were released, as Meden Vale Colts were promoted to the top Division for the first time in their history, whilst Newark & Sherwood United have gone through some rough times unable to get a step 5 ground in the Newark area and whilst playing home games at Harrowby costs to keep hiring grounds, so they decided to move to Balderton and more in to our league, most players walked as they wished to continue at step 5, whilst Grant the Development manager took over the 1st team appointment.

The game kicked off and after 20 seconds the ref Scott thought he was playing vets football as he trapped the ball but had to pull play back for a drop ball, but a scramble after 90 secends, the Colts were 1-0 up through ALFIE GAUGHAN in front of a crowd of 43.

After 14 minutes, United had turned the game on its head when KALVIN OSBORNE had scored a brace of tap ins.

The side from Newark looked in control in the first half, so they lead at half time. Meanwhile Carlos Arrowsmith and Gordon Foster came to join me.

The Second Half began with the Colts attacking but United soaking up the pressure, the visiting keeper went down 3 times for treatment andd wasnt moving too well. Meden upped a gear and the visiting keeper pulled off 3 or 4 superb saves knocking them over the bar.

In the 78th minute, things were to alter as the homesters were reduced down to 10 players as 1 saw red, but this seemed to spur the Colts on and 2 minutes later, a deflected shot by THOMAS SHARPE found the back of the net to make it 2-2.

Each side now pushed forward and had chances, but going in to injury time, all thought this game would end up as a draw, but the Colts had other ideas in the 94th minute for JOEL WHYLE to secure a historic 1st ever win in the Premier Division.

A excellent match played in the right spirit, Newark and Sherwood will gain points with this young side and Meden Vale Colts should do well.

TOWN OPEN WIN 2-0 WIN AWAY

Eurosoccer Nottinghamshire Football League Division One

RAVENSHEAD FC 0 HUCKNALL TOWN RESERVES 2

Well met in the car park by newly formed friend Martin Coulson who joined me for tonights match, we made round to the changing room area to get the teamsheets and Gary made me a flask and made Martin a cuppa. With the teamsheets in and a chat with tonights referee, it was down to pitchside, we not far behiode the near goal, after about 15 mnutes we was joined by old friend Levi Charles and his son Lincoin who stayed for about 30 minutes as Lev i hasnt been too well.

In the 29th minute, Hucknall got a free kick on the left side of the area, from where JEREMIAH OGIE smashed the ball into the far top corner of the net.

Ravenshead pressed more in the second half but didnt really test the visiting keeper and this came back to bite them in the 68th minute, when the Ravenshead keeper made a superb one on one save but it fell to Hucknall sub KEIN KAWAGUCHI.

A very good game watched by around 80 supporters and played in the right spirit. Must Mention the match referee Adrian Gaskin who I felt had a very good game

With the 2 goals at 25p for the charity Blog, it leaves the running total standing at £604.92p

KIRTON HIT THE RAVENS FOR SEVEN

 Pre Season Friendly

KIRTON BRICKWORKS FC 7 RAVENSHEAD FC 2

Photo taken by Martin Coulson

Looking for something local, I spotted this match on my Charity Blog, so Hazel set out to take  me to the Station Road Ground. On arrival I was greeted by Tony and his wife soon made me and Hazel a cuppa and Martin Coulson introduced himself to me and we began chatting away.

Me and Martin stood not far away from the home dugout throuhout the match and really good meeting himwith full view of the pitch as both sides ran  out and kick off was on its way, for the first 30 minutes, Kirton hit the crossbar whilst Ravenshead had young 16 year sprinting down the left wing and crossing but no one to get on to the ball.

In the 32nd minute, there was a foul and the referee pointed to the spot, where Kirton converted to take the lead. Just before the half time break, a kirton player turned and shot low past the visiting keeper to double the homesters lead.

Into the Second Half and The Brickies pushed forward and madeeluded the visitit 3-0 in the 51st minute, two minutes later it became 4-0 when a 25 yard shot evaded the visiting keeper.

On 62 minutes, Ravenshead pulled a goal back from close range, but from the Kirton kick off, they pushed forward and made it 5-1.

The fun then began when Kirton was awarded a penalty to which the Ravenshead keeper put his foot out in the corner to push it away.

Kirton kept going forward, the visitors to begin to tire in the blazing sunshine, In the 72nd minute Kirton increased their lead to 6-1. With 9 minutes left Ravenshead broke away and the low shot ended up in the net.

In the 83rd minute, Kirton got another penalty, with keeper stood still, the penalty taker went for the corner to narrowly miss.

In the 84th minute, Kirton put the nail in the coffin making it 7-2.

After the match, it was really nice to see two good respectable clubs go back to the pub and have a drink and food together.

I must thank Tony from Kirton Brickworks FC, Martin Coulson and Ross Hardwick for all donation £10 each and with the 9 goals seen at 25p per goal takes the running total to a fantastic amount of £584.42p
